Camper Experience

Anchor 1

Safe and Secure,

Happy and Healthy

We want your child to feel included and a part of our family. At Camp Pinewood, we recognize the vital role each and every staff member plays in maintaining a safe, healthy environment.

We select our staff with the utmost care. They must be well referenced, pass a thorough background check and undergo extensive training including certification through the American Red Cross First Aid Program.

Pinewood employs registered nurses that live adjacent to our fully equipped health center. They are available to the campers 24 hours a day and do weekly health checks on each camper. We enjoy an excellent reputation and rapport with our local physicians as well as Margaret Pardee Hospital, all just five minutes from camp.

“We don’t know who we are until we see what we can do.”

Communication is key at Camp Pinewood.

We encourage parents to follow their child’s progress at camp. Our office and nursing staff are available to speak with parents, and we provide phone hours when a director is available to answer any specific questions you may have about your child’s assimilation into camp life. Our counselors complete a comprehensive daily report on each camper, and we can share this information with parents any time during phone hours.

Camp Pinewood is proud to be accredited by the American Camp Association.

In all we do, we take every step to ensure that each camper is safe, secure and happy in our camp community. Summers at Pinewood build confidence, character, values and self-reliance. What better way to grow and mature than in a caring, safe environment where fun and friendships abound?

In discovering Camp Pinewood, our campers also discover the best within themselves.
